set your book at is important. To assist you in picking the best textbook price
we use a comprehensive pricing tool that takes into account local (weighted)
and national fair market price for your book. When a buyer buys your book you
will receive the buyers contact information in an email and/or be notified by
AIM. Contact the buyer and arrange transaction of the book through either a
meeting or the on-campus mail system. After the transaction is cleared your
account will be credited net profit. If there are any problems or questions
with the transaction, please feel free to contact

Delivering/Picking Up Books
When a book is sold the buyer and seller are given each
other contact information. Once contacted the buyer and seller meet, after
arranging a time and place, in a central location on-campus or the seller sends
the book to the buyer through the free on-campus mail system.
Processing Payments
Seller Payment Options
As a Seller, you have two options to choose from to
determine how you are paid for your marketplace sales. You may change your
preferred method at any time in Your Account screen, and any pending payments
will be adjusted to reflect your new choice. Although the final pay-out dates
vary according to the method you choose, all payment methods are initiated on
the same schedule. Sellers are paid three business days after the final
confirmation of delivery to the Buyer. The full amount paid will be a total of
all confirmed deliveries for a given day.
Credit Card. The second fastest method is the credit
card deposit. Select this method to have your payment credited onto any valid
credit card. This amount will either deduct from your existing credit card
balance or else become a negative balance on a paid-off card. Please note that
there may be a few days processing period depending on your card issuer's
policies. You may alter the credit card that we have on file for you in My
Account, after logging in.
Direct Deposit. You may also choose to have your
payment directly deposited into a valid checking or savings account. Due to bank
processing times this method isn't quite as fast as the others, however it's
the only one that pays out with a deposit of cash. If you choose this option,
you must enter a valid routing and account number, which can both be found on
any personal check or deposit ticket, in My Account, after logging in.
Security
ZooMassBooks is concerned about the safety and security of
our customers. Accordingly, we have put a number of technological protections
in place to ensure that our transaction process is extremely save and that our
customers’ information is secure. However, keep in mind that customer
protection is a two-way street. When buying or selling on any online venue,
caution must always be practiced. The overwhelming majority of online
transactions are completed without incident. While the possibility of being
defrauded by a third-party seller is minimal, there are some risks.
ZooMassBooks.com has developed the following guidelines to help ensure that
your online shopping experience is safe and secure. (1) We would ask that you
provide the billing address that is registered to your card to allow for
processing of your transaction. If we do not verify address as valid we will be
unable to accept your credit card. (2) After completing the Payment Process a
student will have five (3) days upon receiving the book to lodge any and all
complaints against the seller or any mishaps or problems which occurred during
the transaction.

Conflict Resolution
ZooMassBooks understands that during some transactions
disputes may arise. Because customer service is our number one priority we will
treat all disputes VERY seriously. After you indicate that you have a dispute
with another user on ZooMassBooks, we will contact that person and indicate
that another user has lodged a complaint. If the nature of the dispute is
personal to either party, we will not release your name unless you allow us to,
and we will try to resolve the dispute anonymously. If the dispute deals with a
problem with the book, examples of which include, but are not limited to:
• Not receiving the correct book as listed
• The book received has significantly more damage than estimated
• The seller backing out of selling the book at the last moment
We would deal with the above mentioned book situations swiftly and will work to
allow you to receive the book you ordered as soon as possible, through all the
means at our disposal. We reiterate that security, value and satisfaction are
at the core of our operating philosophy here at ZooMassBooks.com.

Registering
Providing Information
Registration on ZooMassBooks should be quick and easy taking
no longer than 1-2 minutes.
We will ask for your Name.
We ask for your UMass email address (if this is not
your primary email don’t worry you can use a secondary email address for
contacting buyers and seller). This is important due to the fact that this is
the main line of communication between buyer, seller and marketplace.
We ask that you provide a login password for your
ZooMassBooks account. We require that the password be 6 – 12 characters long. A
good password would also include alphanumeric character strings, as opposed to
an entirely numeric password. This will ensure the security of your account.
Next you will enter your location on campus so that
other students know the distance between them and you so that you can find a
central location to exchange the book.
You will enter in your contact information at this point. This
includes your phone number, either your dorm or a cell, and your AIM screen
name. This is another critical item, since we will use this information to contact
you as quick as possible to let you know that a book has been sold.
That’s it!
Activating Account
Before you can start using a new account, you must activate
your account. We do this in the interests of security to validate your email
address. Shortly after registering on the system, you will receive an email
that contains a hyperlink. You activate your account by clicking on the
hyperlink that is sent to the email address you specify in the initial
registration process.

Pricing/Billing
Fees
ZooMassBooks does not charge fees for browsing or posting
books. Upon selling a book on ZooMassBooks, there is a fee associated with the
transaction. Fees are only charged on a per sale basis. If the book does not
sell, there is no "reinsertion" fee to keep the book listed. Listings
can be available for an indefinite amount of time, essentially until your book
sells, or until you decide to remove it from the system.
The seller will be assessed a fee of two United States dollars
and twenty five United States cents plus seven point two nine percent of the
final sale price of the merchandise. The final listing price selected by the
seller is inclusive of these fees; hence the amount that the seller receives at
the completion of a transaction is two dollars twenty five cents plus seven
point two nine percent less than the final listing price.
As you can imagine, you will be able to achieve a 100 - 500%
net profit gain over what the campus bookstore will pay to purchase your used
textbooks. There are no hidden fees and no price gouging. ZooMassBooks aims to
give the student the greatest return per book at UMass. Period!
If you have any other question about our fees, please contact us.
Sellers are paid three business days after the final confirmation
of delivery to the Buyer. The full amount paid will be a total of all confirmed
deliveries for a given day.
Store Credit. The fastest and most valuable method
for Sellers is the store credit option. Choose this method and you'll receive
your total account balance plus 5%, issued in the form of a store credit code
for use on any future purchase or purchases on ZooMassBooks.com. This gift
certificate will continue to increase and decrease in value as you make
additional sales and purchases.
Due to
bank processing times this method isn't quite as fast as the others, however
it's the only one that pays out with a deposit of cash. If you choose this
option, you must enter a valid routing and account number, which can both be
found on any personal check or deposit ticket, in My Account, after logging in.
CC Billing Info
We would ask that you provide the billing address that is
registered to your card to allow for processing of your transaction. If we do

Return Policy
ZooMassBooks will aid its customers in the refund process as
described in the our dispute policy.
Dispute Policy
ZooMassBooks has designed its business model in an effort to
make every sale as successful as possible. There are times, however, that
disputes and problems will occur. In this event, ZooMassBooks will make an
effort to resolve any disputes between its customers.
When a book is purchased and a confirmation of payment is received (almost
immediately following the purchase itself if using a credit card) the buyer and
seller are given five (3) business days to transfer the book. Following a
successful transfer, the seller and the buyer both have the opportunity to
confirm the completion of the transaction. If either user does not confirm that
their transaction has been completed, ZooMassBooks assumes that the transaction
completed successfully as of five (3) business days following the transfer of
the book.
After the transaction of a book is confirmed, the buyer has three days to
identify problems with the book and to request a refund. If a buyer deems a
book unacceptable, they must contact the seller and request a refund. To
produce a refund through ZooMassBooks, the seller must acknowledge that they
have received their book back (and are ready to have the seller’s money
refunded). When the seller requests that their buyer’s money be refunded,
ZooMassBooks must first remove the appropriate amount from the seller’s
account, then transfer the balance for the amount of the refund to the buyer.
Service fees do not get refunded. If the seller’s account does not have enough
money in it to cover the reimbursement amount, ZooMassBooks will bill the
seller for the difference. Upon receipt of payment from the seller,
ZooMassBooks will transfer the balance for the amount of the refund due to the buyer.
Again if you have any questions that were not answered
please contact us.
